Siteworks collaborated on the design for a new and highly innovative 50,000 square foot office building facility designed to showcase NASA’s culture of innovation. Surpassing LEED Platinum performance standards, this project achieves Cradle to Cradle solutions and serves as a model for future sustainable design and development efforts at NASA.
Featuring near zero net energy consumption, the building is expected to be the highest performing building in the federal government. The building uses 90 percent less potable water than conventional buildings of equal size; integrates on-site wastewater and stormwater processing and treatment; and weaves a fabric of new native/indigenous plant communities throughout the project.
